This is just my opinion - I have not discussed it
with any other member of ACF.
That being said,
I am confident that we will most likely see Div. II
competition at this year's Fall tournament and next year's
Regionals. I am not so sure about Nationals.
Another
probability is that the Div II questions will be the same as
regular competition for many of the reasons already
listed. First, easier questions don't necessarily prepare
players for later competition any better, they just delay
the inevitable. Second, editing another set of
questions would simply place to much of an onus on the
editor(s). For example, last year for ICT, NAQT, whose
question writing and editing power is much greater than
that of ACF's, still was not able to provide a Div II
set because of a time crunch.
At the same
time, like many have said, I realize that
indoctrination into ACF may be easier for some if they play
teams of similar skill level, though as Andrew said
everybody's initiation at some point will be uncomfortable
regardless of format. For me it was getting pounded 600+ to
40 by Andrew and Zarren at my first NAQT
Sectionals.
Anyway, those are my thoughts on the
matter.
