PACE NSC qualification

For any of you who may be
interested:

Qualification for the Partnership for Academic Competition
Excellence National Scholastics Championship (high school
teams only)

1. A team that finishes in first- or
second-place at any competition that involves at least 12
teams, and playing a minimum of four non-elimination
matches.

2. A team that finishes in the top four places
(semifinalist position if elimination) at any competition that
involves at least 40 teams, and playing a minimum of four
non-elimination matches.

Any qualifying team must request
participation in the PACE NSC. The PACE Organizing Committee
will expedite consideration of all requests. You must
include a short history of tournaments attended, your
team's finish at each, and the contact information for
the tournament director.

Awarding of Automatic
Bids

Automatic Bids are awarded to tournaments affiliated with
the PACE network to all qualifying teams. Automatic
bidded teams are given a discount off the entry fee, and
they need not apply for a slot to the field.

A
school is limited to receiving two automatic bids during
the course of the school year. The actual team that
receives the automatic bid need not be identical to the
team that would attend the NSC. If a team/school has
already used up its two bids, the next highest team (as
selected by the Tournament Director or the NSC Organizing
Committee at its discretion) will be awarded the automatic
bid.

A team receiving two automatic bids is allowed to
bring two teams to the NSC, provided they register for
both teams.

Bids are granted by the NSC
Committee at its own discretion based on the field size of
a tournament. In addition, the Final Four teams of
the previous year's NSC automatically are awarded
bids to the NSC.

Our tournament is scheduled
for June 15-17, 2001, at Bowling Green State
University, located just south of Toledo. So anyone that
would like to stick around after the NAQT HSCT and
enjoy the scenery, please consider attending our
