Budgetary concerns

Hi y'all,

The Grinnell Student Activities
Fund just completed the allotment of budgets to
student groups, and the amount they saw fit to award the
Grinnell College Academic Team was $1000 for the 2001-2002
academic year. This is clearly not enough for everything
that we want to do next year, and so my co-founder and
I plan to appeal. While discussing this problem
with a friend, it occured to us that a club so
chock-full of people who have applied to activities funds
for budgets might have some insights on how to
justify some of the costs incurred by a typical quiz bowl
program, and failing that might have some ideas as to how
we could get some additional cash if the standing
budget committee rejects our appeal. Any help at all,
even just telling me how much your clubs spent over
the last academic year so that I could show some
figures to the committee as comparison, would be greatly
appreciated. If you want, you can also e-mail
houston_at_... with your advice.

Thanks in
advance,
Brad
