Actually, the winning teams at National Science
Bowl get to pick their prizes from a list of the
available trips, beginning with the first place team. It's
interesting that there are two international trips this year;
in most previous years, I think there was only one.
Last year there were none, but the trip to Washington
(state) was still very nice (although it almost had to be
cancelled because of the fires near PNNL and the Hanford
reach).
Also, if anyone from the winning teams should happen to
read this, congratulations. Enjoy the award trip; if
they're nearly as well-planned as they were last year,
you should have a great time.
