No offense to anyone who has been picked, but
based on my experience (I have auditioned for J! 6
times, 4 for the college show, 2 for regular shows,
passing the test each time) they seem to pick the people
who did the worst in the process from my groups.
Invariably, people will show up on the air who, in the
audition, forgot to choose the next category, forgot to
phrase responses in the form of a question, or wondered
around like James Stockdale during their interview. So,
I don't think any amount of conjecture can
determine what the coordinators are looking for. One thing
I do know they cannot stand is people mentioning
previous tryout experience. I've seen a couple people shot
down for that.
Also, each time I put down college
bowl as one of my five things. I will not
again.
