Re: Summer reading recommendations?

Dorothy Parker stated in a book review "This is
not a book to be tossed aside lightly. It should be
thrown away with great force."

Not offend anyone,
but that was precisely what I did with The Sun Also
Rises. Hemingway's short stories are fabulous, but maybe
because I don't have a penis I couldn't get into this
one.

Good book: His Family by Ernest Poole. I'm a huge fan
of realism, particularly of the early twentieth
century.

Bad Book: Thomas Harris is sooooo
disappointing. I read both Red Dragon and Hannibal over the past
month, and his ideas are great, but his writing leaves
you feeling unsatisfied.

Popular book: The
World According to Garp... actually, anything by John
Irving is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me.
