Re: Summer reading recommendations?

Since I *did* promise to post my personal
recommendations (but please, continue to
post!)....

Recommended: "The Count of Monte Cristo." Probably the best
page-turner I've ever read. Certainly the longest single book
I've ever read. :)

Honorable mention: "Good
Omens" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Probably the
single funniest book I've ever read.


Disrecommended: "The Terminal Man" by Michael Crichton. Dull and
disappointing, it ran out of gas around the 2/3
mark.

Dishonorable mention: "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand. I read
it on the recommendation of a med school classmate.
The ONLY way I was able to finish it was by taking it
as a comic novel.

Last book read for
pleasure: "Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephenson.
