-The Moral Life of Children
by Robert Coles
-The Clan of the Cave Bear by
Jean Auel (Go further into the series at your own
risk)
Not recommended:
-Anything by Ayn Rand, fiction or
non-fiction
-I read a translation of Kafka's The Trial which
faithfully followed the line breaks, such that dialogue was
contained in paragraphs that ran on and on for pages as the
translator claimed the original did. Perhaps I shall read a
friendlier translation later.
Then again, I read a
lot of books whose titles begin with "A Concise
History of" (dating back to pre-quizbowl habits).
