After eight years at Case Western Reserve
University, Emil Thomas Chuck has accepted a position as a
postdoctoral research associate at Duke University Medical
Center, effective September 2001 (date to be decided).
Terms for the position are still under
negotiation.
As for activities with quiz bowl, Thomas Chuck will
remain Assistant State Director of Ohio Academic
Decathlon, fulfilling his contractual obligations to the end
of the 2001-2002 competition year. He has indicated
interest as an advisor/consultant to both the Duke and the
UNC academic teams, with exact terms yet to be
determined. However, he intends to limit his travel to
competitions and focus more on tournament organization and
networking for both college and high school competitions in
the area.
Thomas Chuck extends his thanks to
all the friends whom he has worked with during his
tenure with the College Trivia Club and looks forward to
continuing collaborations while forging new working
relationships with colleagues in the southeast.
