If you get the chance, and you want to try out
for WWTBAM, I recommend doing the local tryout. Since
it was so poorly advertised in DC, they apparently
had only 175 people at the 2:00 p.m. tryout, and had
a hard time filling the 200 people for the 6:00
p.m. tryout I attended; I had no problem getting in
after showing up around 4:30.
It was nice
chatting with the one other quizbowler I recognized
pre-tryout, even though she heard from somewhere I'm 38 years
old--ye gods.
