This could all be solved simply by putting
specialized clues earlier in the toss-up. Is it really that
different than the movement for more conceptualized science
questions a few years ago? There are probably always some
tone/perception complications due to the inadequacy of this means
of communication. At the risk of sounding preachy,
let's be careful about the precedent of jumping all
over people who wants to suggest a very small change
that might actually improve the variety of the
game.
