They've also noted that, while the Red Cross only
has so much capacity at any given point in time,
there will be a continuing need for blood, and
especially platelets. Burn victims will need skin grafts and
surgeries as people can get into the hospitals and get
treated. I urge everyone who can give blood to make an
appointment at your local Red Cross or other blood bank for
sometime in the next two weeks. The need won't go away
just from the response today.
