My name is Preston
Schiroky, and I'm organizing the first quiz bowl team to
represent my college, Simon's Rock College of Bard, at quiz
bowl tournaments. Simon's Rock is a (very) small
liberal arts school in which almost all entering students
have left high school after tenth grade and are 16
years of age. We are located in Great Barrington, MA.
If you have any advice to give a new team, it would
be appreciated. I've also put our team on The

I have one question in particular. We don't have a
very large budget (presently) for quiz bowl, and are
trying to decide which tournaments to attend. For now,
we'll try and do the ACF Fall Tourney and maybe Puppy
Chow at BU, whose contacts have been very helpful. How
does CBI work - is the Regional tournament the only
tournament you're guaranteed? I hope to see you on the
circuit!
