Re: conundrum

>>So here's my question: we've all been to
tournaments where some (often though not always very good)
players not only do not seem to enjoy playing, but seem
to treat playing QB less like an extracurricular
activity and more like a painful moral
obligation.

Different personality types. Some people find fulfillment
in putting they're all into something, sort of
"enjoying" their frustrations in failure more than they
would enjoy having low personal standards and meeting
them. In other words, they need a "quest" in life and
this works in a low-pressure environment where despite
momentary frustrations, the world doesn't end if you fail.
Others are driven as much by a competitive personality
as anything else - I keep coming back just to get
those urges out of my system. I like sports a lot, and
this is the closest I can get to that sort of team
competition. You seem to be more laid-back, can take things or
leave them, and mainly want to just have a good time
answering questions. It takes all types to make life
interesting.
