I also wanted to add that I thought the Maryland
tournament from this weekend was utterly excellent and VERY
fun. I pretty much quit quizbowl last year after Penn
Bowl for various reasons and for other various reasons
decided last week to come back to it; the Terp Tournament
reminded me how much I love quizbowl and intend now to
stick with it. Maureen did an absolutely superb job of
editing and running things--to me, she's the exempler TD
(true, there were only 10 teams, but there is still
PLENTY that can go wrong). She even moderated as well.
The level of questions was great, the competition
formidable (Princeton, even without Jakob, is in my opinion
nearly unstoppable...Jeff Hoppes is awesome!), and the
efficiency (all was on time, from rounds to lunch)
impressive. TIT was a wonderful tournament and I can't wait
to go back next year. Great job Maryland!
