In my experience, most blitzes are not the result
of a "slightly misleading" question, but rather some
sort of moderator error (mispronunciation, skipping
words -- it happens) or a player zoning out and missing
critical words like "his" or "it" that would differentiate
creator/creation.
Of course, the latter phenomenon is also responsible
for a lot of negs. "I didn't hear
1800s!!"
Blitzing allows players to overcome all three problems. Of
course, it also allows players to stall for a little
time. "This is ... Henry James' novel ......... Wings
of the Dove!"
