Announcement: Penn Bowl 11 Mirror

The California Institute of Technology Quiz Bowl
Club is pleased to
announce that it will hosting a
mirror of Penn Bowl 11 on the weekend of
the
25th-26th of January. (we are leaning towards a single day
tournament on
the Saturday in deference to the drive
suffered by our friends in the
north, but are willing
to change if the populace demands it).

The
tournament will be open to all teams consisting of current
college
students. Masters and Chimera teams will be allowed if and
only if space
permits. Teams from the Central and
Eastern Time Zones MUST contact
Samer Ismail at
<stipenn_at_...> or <samer_at_...> by
December 10
before registering.

This is (at least in theory)
a packet submission tournament (guidelines
for
packets may be found at
<a href=http://samerismail.tripod.com/pennbowl11/pb11packets.html target=new>http://samerismail.tripod.com/pennbowl11/pb11packets.html</a> ). However,
teams may compete at the Caltech
site without submitting a packet in
exchange for a
higher entry fee. Schools sending 2 teams should send
a
double packet of 36 tossups and 36 boni, while those
sending 1 team should
send a single packet of 21
tossups/21 boni (contact Samer Ismail if your
school
wants to send more than 2 teams) Packets should be
submitted by
Dec. 10, with a discount for earlier
packets.

from a school, $90 for each
team
thereafter.
