Re: Important Question

"Tournament A 56 ppg
Tournament B 16.5
ppg
Tournament C 14.5 ppg
Tournament D 14.6 ppg
Tournament
E 77 ppg"
Hmmmm....
Since I would prefer not
to condemn before knowing all the facts, I'd want
the following possible alternate explanations
eliminated :

* This player played solo at A and E, or
had more and substantially better teammates at B, C,
and D. If the poster is referring to Stanford (which
is what it sounds like), that's a team with a lot of
quality players, so there is one possibility.

*
The field strengths were radically different. It's
far easier to score a high total at a tournament with
a lot of weak teams.

* The player in
question is a frosh or soph playing either at a "junior
bird" or in a separate Div II in A and E, where there
are fewer great players as a percentage of the field,
but in regular tournaments in B-D.

Sometimes
people's point totals vary widely, although going from the
15 PPG range to 77 PPG is quite a wide variance
indeed.
