Re: Choices (was Oh, here I go again)

Well said Erik, Seth and Anthony. I pretty much
agree with all of you (except for where Erik disagrees
with Anthony and then I go with Erik). And let me say
that goes for American history which is drastically
overrepresented in the distribution. I would argue that the
number of English lit questions (I'm including English
language Irish in that) is about right, but that American
lit is overrepresented. There are so many stronger
literatures readily available. But before we go for the 5th
most well know Chilean poet, let's get Leopardi in the
canon first (almost universally considered by Italians
to be the most important Italian poet since Dante
and Petrarch) and there are many, many other
examples.
As a side note to Brian Ulrich's post,
actually I've heard Sunni Ali and Askia Muhammed questions
come up. As well as the Ayyubid and Aechemenid (sp?)
dynasties. I'm all for more expansion but it will increase
difficulty.

My 3 cents.
