The Maryland High School Invitational Tournament,
a high school tournament with games in the It's
Academic format, was held Sunday, November 18th at the
University of Maryland (College Park, MD). Congratulations
to Eleanor Roosevelt High School, whose A team
defeated the B team of the Thomas Jefferson High School
for Science and Technology in the final to emerge
undefeated from the 56 team field.
Those teams will
receive automatic bids to the PACE National Scholastics
Championship to be held June 15-16, 2002 at George Washington
University (Washington, DC). Semifinalists St. Anselm's A
and Thomas Jefferson A are also likely to receive
automatic bids.
