I agree with Eric's general philosophy. I think
people are always trying to integrate stuff relating to
their own specialties and while that is natural for ppl
to do, I think that keeing in mind what everyone
should know in a macro context, at least about the core
subjects, is a much more valuable guide than necessarily
insisting that things like obscure geological facts should
be integrated into the canon just because they are
important in their field and all fields should be
represented. 

Also those tempted to write historian
questions by the ton, please remember that history is the
study of events and people not those that write it or
even necessarily analyse it (which is why Mike Wehrman
is definitely right about the fact that there is
plenty of material about what(may have) happened out
there that is good question material.

ps also business questions should be banned from all
packets not because of any actual logical reasons but
because that would annoy the heck out of sahir and that
is pretty close to an absolute good in a
relativistic world.
