Re: Who Are/Were the Best Players?

First, Andrew is outstanding, but not the best.
Tom Waters is and perhaps will always be the
best.

I'm not sure why Andy mentioned some of those names,
but I'm glad he mentioned Brian Rostron, who may have
been the most underrated player of all time. Had he
not played most of his UVa. tourneys with Andrew, he
would have been a solid 80-100 PPG player most of the
time.

Also, though I don't rank him as high as I used to, I
still think Ramesh Kannapan at his peak would be
considered one of the best 10-15 players of all time. He
took a team of three weak-ass scrubs (my freshman self
included) to a 15-4 record and the Penn Bowl championship
game -- knocking off an undefeated BYU team and a Jeff
Johnson-led Harvard team in the process before falling to
Chicago A (Sheahan-Edwards-Steve Wang-Sarah Bruce) in the
final. This after he had been retired and pretty much
out of quizbowl for two years.

Also, if Jon
Saluta of UNC has not been mentioned yet, he was a
pretty impressive player.
