PB11: Packet deadlines, etc. [2/2]

[continued from previous post....]

LATE PACKETS & THE WAIT LIST

At the moment, we
have FIVE teams on the wait list. If I could, I would
admit them into the field. However, I cannot do that
without creating major logistical problems (among other
things, at the moment, I only have 30 game rooms
available on Saturday).

I am thus forced to keep
teams on the wait list. I am also, therefore, going to
invoke the clause that has been stated on the WWW page
since its initial posting:

IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN
YOUR SPOTS IN THE FIELD, YOU **MUST** SUBMIT AN
ACCEPTABLE PACKET BY THE REGULAR DEADLINE (Monday 10
December 2001).

After that date, teams will be
accepted in the order in which packets are received.
Please note that badly-written packets will NOT be
accepted (e.g., if you send a packet with eight US history
TUs, where every bonus is a 30-20-10, there are ten
FAQTP TUs, etc.).

I realize this is not a
perfect solution, but having 70 teams is simply not an
option, and this is the fairest solution I can devise.

*** LATE PACKET PENALTIES

The late fees for
PB11, which were not previously announced, shall be as
follows. Please note that the schedule is similar to that
for PB10.

Tuesday, 11 December 2001 to Monday,
17 December 2001: +$20 (2+ teams)/+$10 (1
team)
Tuesday, 18 December 2001 to Thursday, 27 December 2001:
+$40/+$20
Friday, 28 December 2001 to Sunday, 6 January 2002:
+$60/+$30
Monday, 7 January 2002 to Friday, 11 January 2002:
+$80/+$40
After Friday, 11 January 2002: +$120/+$60

Again,
you can receive an automatic 72-hour extension to
avoid increased fees, but only COMPLETED packets will
satisfy the packet requirement for keeping your team in
the field after the regular deadline. [Teams that
have extensions as of 10 December 2001 will not be
dropped until said extensions expire.]

And, just
to make this perfectly clear, let me state this one
more time: I would much rather have your packets than
your money. So please get them in as soon as
possible.

*** THE WAIT LIST

After 65 teams have
submitted packets, if there are further drops from the
field, teams will be added back to the main field in the
order in which they originally registered.

If
within 72 hours there are still teams on the wait list,
they may come to Philadelphia on a standby basis. In
other words: if you are willing to come and moderate,
and a spot opens up, you can play for
free.
