I think
"Shaft" is fair game in a high school tournament. For one
thing, it's probably the best-known Blaxploitation flick
ever. The theme song gets radio airplay, and I would
guess that more people know who Isaac Hayes is now
(thanks to "South Park") than would have known who he was
in the 80's. Finally, I'm almost positive that
"Shaft" has made its way onto TV in an edited form since
its original release. (And I think "Shaft's Big
Score!" was made for TV anyway, if memory
serves.)
To know anything about "Freddy Got Fingered,"
though, would require having seen the movie or reading
that particular review. Well, other than relying on
cast members featured in ads or something.
