Sword Bowl 2002: full team results

Congratulations again to South Carolina, winners
of Sword Bowl 2002. Here's the full story on team
results. We had a full round robin for the 13-team field,
after which there would be playoffs only if necessary
to break a tie for the trophy positions (top three.)

thus took 3rd outright. South Carolina and Emory then
went into a playoff for first, with South Carolina
having a one-game advantage by virtue of their
head-to-head win. If Emory won the playoff round, there would
have been a 20-tossup shootout to break the tie.
However, South Carolina won a narrow 170-140 victory in
the playoffs to avoid the shootout and win first
place. Again, congratulations, and thanks to all for a
great atmosphere and a very enjoyable tournament.
