Re: ? DISTRIB FOR KCK III

The first example that comes to mind was at an
NAQT Conference at Virginia a few years ago; someone
on Penn State (now no longer associated with the
team) said something like "the only things Africa has
ever given us are disease, war, and poverty". I forget
the exact phrase, but it was something very much like
that.

I have to admit I've never understood why there's
such a racial disparity in QB, although part of it may
be because schools like Howard and Tulane remain in
a de facto segregation as a result of the HCASC
system. Certainly on a high school level it's much less
pronounced, although still worrisome (Washington, DC is
demographically something like 70% black, but most of the
heavy-hitting teams come from magnet schools in Maryland and
Virginia which demonstrate classic race/wealth
disparity).

What do we as a community do about it? I really have
no idea.
