After defeating Rhodes A in a second playoff game
we moved on to the finals and beat Emory B. We had a
one game advantage heading into that game also, but
needed only one game to claim the championship.
Basically, we were wrongly seeded third going into the
playoffs when we should have been 2nd ahead of Rhodes
according the tournament rules. I discovered the seeding
mistake, reported it to the assistant tournament director
who, after consulting with Charlie via cell phone,
confirmed that there was a mistake and we should have been
2nd. We went back to the room, and played a deciding
third game (really the 2nd playoff game). I don't know
if any of this makes any sense, but maybe someone
will be able to decipher it. I'm sure Charlie et al
will provide a much better explanation sometime soon.
