MIT will be holding a high school quiz bowl
tournament on Saturday March 2nd, as part of NAQT's
Nationwide Tournament Day. We will be running untimed rounds
of twenty questions. The tournament's format will be
determined when we know how many teams are
playing.
Costs
Base Fee: $80 per team
Bringing a functional Buzzer
System: -$10
Bringing an experienced moderator:
-$20
Bringing a staff member (e.g. scorekeeper):
-$10
Minimum Fee: $40 per team
We define an experienced
moderator as a person who has moderated at least one full
tournament and knows NAQT's rules. A staff member needs no
experience. To get either of these two discounts, the person
must be willing to work the
full
tournament.
We are currently planning on capping the field at 24
teams. We will give priority to first teams from each
school(then second teams and so on) if the field needs to be
restricted.
