Raj had several questions: "Where were these guidelines posted?" - They were sent by email to all SCT hosts. The policy on tiebreakers has been the same for at least three SCTs now, and has been discussed on this board in the past. The "contradiction" between the host call web page statement and my statement in 8549 isn't very much of a contradiction -- I had to read the host call language twice to realize it wasn't literally saying the same thing. My wording is better :) because it's clearer: sectionals must have separate play if there are four or more teams registered in each division. There has been no host confusion about this, to my knowledge. The observation that our website doesn't always keep up with all the statements of our officers is correct. I don't have access to changing the site, and hadn't looked to see whether anyone had updated last year's results since my week-old statement about Div. 2 teams being able to win the UG (or overall) titles if they are playing in a combined field. In general, NAQT people have been busier with more timely things than this minor technical addendum during the past week in particular. And yes, when playing in a combined field (something we hope becomes rarer and rarer if not extinct altogether) is the only time that teams registering as Div. 2 teams can win the overall or undergraduate titles, as those titles aren't offered in a Div. 2-only field.
