Only seven teams attended the Region 3 tournament
today at NJIT in Newark, NJ. The format was a single
round-robin, which was to be followed by a 2 out of 3 final
between the top two teams. After lunch, it was announced
to the participants that all regionals would be
doing a double elimination playoff with the top 4
teams, so it was therefore changed.
The single
round robin results were as follows :

7. Essex CC (0-6)
The double elimination

With
that, New York University (8-1) wins the 2002 CBI
Region 3 Tournament, with the University of Delaware
(8-2) coming in second and Villanova University (5-4)
placing third.
