13 teams from Florida and Georgia participated in
yesterday's NAQT CC Sectional at Valencia Community College
in Orlando, Florida. Valencia CC was the clear
winner at 12-0, beating the #2 and #3 teams by scores of
(I believe) 420-110 and 505-115. Bainbridge was
second at 11-1, and Broward CC placed third at 9-3, with
a couple of teams at 8-4. James Baker of Valencia
was the high scorer, followed by Mikey Alday of
Bainbridge, Amanda from ABAC, Ebony from Bainbridge, and
Chris Shelton of Broward. Thanks to Valencia and Chris
Borglum for hosting an excellent tournament, and
additional thanks to Damione of UCF for moderating my last
round after my voice went out.
Incidentally, I
don't recall having seen results posted from the
Alabama CC sectional of a week earlier. Dalton State won
that one at 10-0, with Bevill State (the
highest-scoring team) second at 8-2, with two teams tied at 7-3
(I believe one was Jefferson State).
