Students(TM) on the circuit, I don't sleep much. Hence you'll
have to pardon any potential idiocy in this
message.
I was on the Illinois team at Elvis. Looking at the
stats posted today, I'm a little curious about the
order of finish. We had the same record as the MSU
team, and beat them twice (once in the RR, once in the
playoffs) in the two times we played. Now, we missed the
rules meeting, so I don't really know, but my
understanding is that some form of points statistic was used as
the first tiebreaker (thus enabling us to job
Carleton A out of the last playoff spot). So naturally,
when MSU left Madison with the third place trophy, I
assumed that it was because they were ahead of us in
whatever statistic that tiebreaker was. Imagine my
surprise, looking today at the team statistics page, and
noticing that we have more points scored than MSU, and
fewer points against. Now, no disrespect to the
Spartans, but is this an error in the statistics, or did we
get screwed?
