In the middle of all of the debate about CBI and
their question quality, moderator quality, costs, etc,
one thing that I'm surprised that no one has
mentioned yet is the round robin+single elimination playoff
format that seems to have been used at least a couple of
the regional tournaments (I know for sure it was used
at the Region 14 tourney) Maybe it's me, but using a
single elimination playoff format seems like a crappy
way to determine a regional champion. Does anyone
have an opinion on this and has anyone bothered to
tell CBI to come up with something better?? At least a
double-elimination playoff?
