We have to remove all the American crap anyway, so
it's only a few more :)
As for timing: our
academic year is later than yours - some universities
don't start back until October, and we hit our first
tournaments in November. We then have our regionals this
term, and then a national tournament after the Easter
break.
ICT bids aren't done just on the previous year's
nationals - they're also currently done on this year's
regionals.
Anyway, organising any tournaments into the academic
calendar over here is hell. Terms are crazily short and
busy, and we're not exactly loaded with available
tournament staff, so the same people trek all over the
country week in, week out.
