Re: Discussing specific NAQT or CB quest

My "esteemed teammate" Josh writes:
One hose I
remember in CBI regionals was the "lee" question, in which
"leeward" was *not* accepted before the clue "three-letter
word" was mentioned.

As the person who gave that
non-three letter answer, I guess I'll weigh in. IMHO, this
was actually more a case of an officiating problem
than a bad question. The question was ok, the
moderator should simply have accepted our answer. I really
like that particular moderator, but he made a mistake
there. However, there is also a philosophical issue in
that, according the response the moderator gave me, CBI
still believes that interrupting the question _should
be_ risky, i.e., the chance of a hose is a part of
the game. I know this greatly bothers a lot of
people, but personally I've come to accept it and still
have fun playing CBI. The biggest problem this weekend
was a single really awful moderator (not the one
mentioned above) and that happens sometimes at circuit
events as well. The Kinko's/Napster question about which
I screamed hose at the time was really a matter of
ignorance on my part that the given information could apply
to more than one thing.
