"Felix Krull" comes up more

The specific comparison is a minor point, and the
difference is small, and depends on the particular sample
I've put into the Carleton Frequency of Mention of
Titles database -- 110 tournaments, though not so many
from the past few years -- but for whatever it's
worth, Tonio Kroger leads Felix Krull in how frequently
it has come up in my count, 6 mentions to 4. I think
it would be very difficult to state with confidence
that one of these titles definitely comes up more than
the other, is more canonical, or easier.

The
current count for Thomas Mann works in my particular
sample:

37 Death in Venice
37 The Magic Mountain
25
Buddenbrooks
10 Doctor Faustus
 8 Joseph and his Brothers

7 Mario and the Magician
 6 Tonio Kroger
 4
Confessions of Felix Krull
3 The Beloved Returns / Lotte
in Weimar
 3 The Holy Sinner
and 12 other
titles all at 1 or 2.
