Re: Reaction to TRASHionals

Ross with all due respect, exactly what WERE you expecting? These
q's were not more difficult than say TrashMasters and they were far
superior to any invitational or one-man written tournament I'd heard
in awhile. There also was no significant jump in difficulty in the
big four topics (sports, movies, tv, pop) from comparing last year's
answers to this years. If anything the subdistributions in these
categories finally became reasonable with people whose knowledge of
things like non-80's music no longer being punished. Furthermore, if
you're having this much of a problem with this year's TRASHionals,
then fill out the survey with TRASH, I'm sure they'd love to hear
from you, but if I were you I wouldn't use the argument of "it was
more difficult than invitationals". It's supposed to be. It has 4
times teams of invitationals like FOGHAT or Depauw. How are you
going to put 36 teams in some order if the q's are easy for all?
FWIW, I don't think these were hard and I'm nowhere close to
hardcore. I think the only difference is I didn't have teams like at
invitationals where we could feast on. And that's what I expect from
a national level tournament.
