Berkeley announces BASQUE - July 26-28 - Official Announcement

The University of California, Berkeley, is pleased to announce its
annual summer tournament, the Bay Area Summer Quizbowl Ultimate
Extravaganza (BASQUE). The tournament will be held on the weekend of
July 26-28 (Friday-Sunday) and will comprise the following:

Chicago Open mirror, directed by Matt Levine,
Capitol Punishment mirror, directed by Seth Teitler,
Roger Bhan's singles tournament, directed by Eok Ngo, and
Science Masters I, directed by Seth Teitler and Kirstin Chevalier and
edited by Seth Teitler, Kirstin Chevalier, Jason Paik, and Jerry
Vinokurov.

The fee schedule is as follows:

Chicago Open Mirror
TD: Matt Levine (arwmatt_at_...)
Base Fee: $80
If you bring a competent moderator: -$10
If you bring a buzzer system: -$10
For each 2nd or 3rd team: -$10
If you submit a packet: -$10
If your team also participates in the Capitol Punishment III mirror or
if a majority of your team participates in the singles tournament: -10
Out of state: -$30
Minimum Fee: $40

Capitol Punishment Mirror
TD: Seth Teitler (satelite_at_...)
Base Fee: $60
If you bring a competent moderator: -$10
If you bring a buzzer system: -$5
For each 2nd or 3rd team: -$10
If you submit a packet: -$10
If your team also participates in the Chicago Open mirror or if a 
majority of your team participates in the singles tournament: -30
Out of state: -$30
Minimum Fee: $30

Roger Bhan's Singles Tournament
TD: Eok Ngo (eok_at_...)
Base Fee: $10 per participant
Buzzer discount: -$5
Moderator discount: -$5
Minimum Fee: $5 (if you can bring more than 1 buzzer and/or a
moderator we will be eternally grateful)
Electronic copy of questions: +$5 if paid with entry fee, $10 later.

Science Masters I
TD: Seth Teitler and Kirstin Chevalier (satelite_at_...
and krc_at_..., respectively)
Fee: $10 per person if you submit a 7/7 packet conforming to the
distribution outlined in post 9758 by Seth Teitler, and a whopping $0
if you submit a 14/14 packet conforming to the same distribution!

The tournament will most likely be held somewhere in Dwinelle Hall;
unfortunately, the location is still undetermined, but will be posted
as soon as we know for sure where we're going to hold it.
