Chicago Open - Results brief

Hello All,
Sorry for the delay in announcing anything. Full stats, team and
individual, will be posted within the week when I can enter the
scoresheets into a stats program

In this year's tournament there were 11 teams, including three one-
man outfits. The plan was to play a round robin, and then break off
into brackets of 4,4,3 for some mini round-robins. However, due to a
packet being read out of order, and no spares available, we had to
change the format.
At the end of the round robin the Swamis of Malgudi (Hillemann,
Hentzel, Pike) and Resurrecting Guy Domville (Berdichevsky, Litvak,
McClaren, and Cohn) finished tied with records of 9-1 (the Swamis
beat the other top team but lost to the third place team, Fading into
Bolivian (Bhan, Dhuwalia, McKenzie, and Borglum), which finished with
two losses. At this point the top two teams played a best of three
game final, and the rest of the field played ladder play over 2
rounds. Congratulations to Eric, R., and Emily who deservingly won
the title after winning the third and decisive game in the finals
series. This is their second title in three years.

The top two teams and top eight all stars got to choose prizes, all
of which were books.

Those top eight all stars were:
1. R. - 68.5 ppg
2. Zeke - 68 ppg.
(I'm not sure about the exact order at this point, but it goes
something like this)
3. Seth Kendall
4. Nathan Freeburg
5. Wesley Matthews
6. Mike Wehrman
7. Kelly McKenzie
8. Mike Angel

Apologies if I misplaced your position - it will be corrected when I
get the full results up sometime this weekend.

Thanks,
Subash
