Muck Masters 2002: results & thanks

Congratulations to Are You There, God? It's Me, Mothra (Keith
Hudson, Gail Celio, Alysia Vrailas, Jeremy White), winners of Muck
Masters 2002 at UTC. The Neil Reid Appreciation Society (Jerry
Hagen, Mica Hilson, Wesley Mathews) was second; 37 Pieces of Ric Flair
(James Quintong, Stacey Helton, Anthony DeJesus, Phil Groce) was 3rd.

Thanks go to UTC's official stats goddess Dorothy Morisch for her
usual miracles; to house readers Stephen Taylor, Laura White, Josh
Clanton, Ahmed Ismail, and Clay Hambrick -- yes, we had guest readers
from MIT and Harvey Mudd! -- and to all the volunteer bye round
readers. Major thanks go to freelance packet contributors Michael
Falk and Matt Cvijanovich of Iowa State and Minnesota's Dave Dorman;
to Anne Mitchell of Michigan's Burns tournament for helping us get in
touch with Burns contributors; and to Brian Hight, Craig Barker, Mike
Burger and Ryan Blay for sharing their Burns packets with us.

Standings going into the playoffs are below. The astute observer
will note that there are more wins than losses. To fit a 13-team
field into the timeframe we'd promised, we came up with an unorthodox
schedule using a 13-team round robin, then took 2 rounds where the
bye team had not sent a packet or arranged for one (see what happens?)
and gave all the other teams a win for that round.
