Moc Masters 2002: team results and thanks

Congratulations to The Ultimate Paradox (Kelly McKenzie), the
ultimate winner of Moc Masters 2002 at UTC. Second went to Passover
Free Agent All-Stars (Mark Dawson, Doug Grote, Stephen Webb, and
Jason Zuffranieri); Monty Python's Dysfunctional Dysfunctional Flying
Circus of the Stars on '45 (Anthony DeJesus) took 3rd.

Thanks go to UTC stats goddess Dorothy Morisch for putting up with us
yet again; the UTC setup crew of Shannon Moore, John Kilby, and Wally
Edmondson; and freelance question writers Carol Guthrie of Tennessee,
Daniel Greenstein of Maryland, Michael Falk and Matt Cvijanovich of
Iowa State, Robert Trent of Vanderbilt, James Washick of North
Greenville College, and Berkeley's Mike Usher, Steve Kaplan, Juliana
Froggatt, and Seth Teitler. Thanks also to the Florida team who had
to cancel but graciously let us use their packet for much-needed
spare parts. And thanks to the officiating crew of Jason Russell,
Scott Sanders, Miguel Ruiz, Jeremy Brown, and sometimes Joseph Dion.
In particular, I want to salute Jason Russell, who's moving to New
Hampshire later this month and thus somewhat less likely to be able
to volunteer for future services. One of our most popular readers,
Jason even predates the Provino's tradition; he showed up to read at
our first collegiate academic tournament (COTKU '98), and virtually
everything else since then. We will certainly miss him.

Now back to the results. We had a 12-team field. Moc Masters was by
design a short tournament; we had a 7-round bracketed round robin,
with one random cross-bracket match thrown in, followed by two rounds
of playoffs. Results of the round robin were:
