The 2011 MSHSAA State Championship was held on May 6-7, 2011. Classes 1 and 2 competed on Friday and Classes 3 and 4 played on Saturday.
Questions for Districts and State were provided by NAQT. Questions in the first and third quarters were speedchecks, while the second and fourth quarter questions were taken from A sets at districts and IS sets at state [1]. The use of existing sets for some questions resulted in only one A set (IS-99A) remaining available for use during the regular season in Missouri.

Questions
The NAQT-supplied questions were significantly more accessible than the questions of the last several years, as evidenced by the high scores and many records broken [2]:
- Ladue sophomore Max Schindler answered 135 of 250 tossups correctly, breaking Mike Wehrman's record of 133 tossups set in 1997.
- Max also set the single-game record with 31 tossups, in round 2 versus Lee's Summit North (previously 30, set by Mike Wehrman in 1997).
- Max tied the record for most tossups scored in a championship game with 24, originally set by Adam Hill of Nixa in 2001.
- Ladue shattered the record for most points scored in the tournament with 2840 (previously set by Savannah in Class 3 with 2585 points in 2004. The Class 4 record was 2510 points, set by North Kansas City in 1997).
- Ladue broke the record for most points in a semifinal game with 630 (previously 620, set by Savannah in 2004).
- Ladue's 630 points in the semifinals also broke the record for most points in a Class 4 game (previously 600, set by North Kansas City in 1997 and matched by Blue Springs in 2000 and Rock Bridge in Round 2 the same day.) Cuba still holds the record for most points scored in any match with 640, set in the inaugural Class 3 MSHSAA state tournament in 1996.
- Savannah tied the Class 3 record for most points in a championship game it previously set in 2003, with 460 points against Centralia.
- Savannah and Rock Bridge hold fourth and fifth place all-time, respectively, in points scored throughout the day.
Given Ladue's youth and the general improvement of teams in Missouri, more records are likely to be broken in the near future unless questions become less accessible.
While the questions were significantly improved over previous years, they were still too short and followed MSHSAA's distribution which includes a large amount of computational math.
