There are three notable Lyons who have competed in quizbowl.
- Ezra Lyon is a Carleton alum who won the 2007 NCT with Minnesota.
- Gabriel Lyon is Ezra's older brother, a current grad student at Wisconsin.
- Avram Lyon is a former Grinnell player.
