Mehrun Etebari is a well-known quiz bowl player from Brandeis University. As a junior, he led Brandeis to a top-eight finish at the 2002 Division II ICT, their highest placement in any academic nationals. He also played and excelled in Trash formats.
Perhaps most notably, he was a Jeopardy! five-day champ in 2007, earning $128,100. He qualified for the season-ending tournament of champions, but did not advance past the first round. His regular season earnings now stand as the ninth-largest in Jeopardy! game show history.
After graduating Brandeis, he studied at Boston College and Yale University.
