The Tennessee State Quiz Bowl Tournament is the NAQT state championship tournament for all Tennessee high school teams, replacing the defunct TACA State Championship. Unlike previous formats, the tournament adheres to strict 20/20 NAQT style, with no bouncebacks or worksheets (though with computational math tossups kept in). In recent years, it has been expertly directed by Brian Hoover and Chuck Pearson. In 2026, an individual player championship was added to the State Championship weekend.
