The team was founded by [[IHSSBCA Hall of Fame]] member, Brenda Bratcher, in 1981. Bratcher coached them for over 20 years ending in 2003. During her tenure Coach Bratcher accumulated over 350 victories, all over .500, culminating in an appearance in the State championship in 2002. Following Bratcher's retirement, the team picked up where it had left off by returning to the State championship in 2004 under Coach Mary Jo Osborn. The team remained strong for the next decade, seeing a resurgence in the mid-2010's.
