The University of Colorado-Boulder started a Quiz Bowl team in December of 2015 with leadership of student Jason Freng and former Princeton Quiz Bowler and current CU-Boulder faculty Jordan Boyd-Graber. History

CU started a quizbowl team in December of 2015 under the leadership of student Jason Freng and former Princeton quizbowler and then-faculty Jordan Boyd-Graber. It hosted its first tournament, the Rocky Mountain SCT, on February 6th, 2016. Its teams placed 2nd and 3rd, behind visiting New Mexico State.

The team gradually grew over the following years, hosting significantly more tournaments and playing D2 ICT in 2017 and D1 ICT in 2018 and 2019. The team also engages in high school outreach, and as of summer 2019, has been the only host of pyramidal tournaments in Colorado.
