Grant Li was a member of the [[Thomas Jefferson (VA)]] Quizbowl team, secretary of the club in the 2016-2017 season, and co-captain along with [[Rohan Hegde]] in the 2017-2018 season. He is good at history and had a combined 4th place PPG at 2015 RM Fall Novice. In the 2017-2018 season, Li - the main literature scorer - was a major contributor to TJ's PACE NSC A team, which won the national title. This was the first national quizbowl title TJ had won in over a decade. In addition, Li was a member of TJ's HSNCT A team which, although forfeiting a match so as to allow for the players to catch a plane flight, still managed to finish fourth overall.

He came out of retirement to join Chicago's DII ICT team, getting another 2nd place finish.
