H.F.E.A. is an inter-school team comprised of several private international schools throughout Mainland China and is China's largest active quiz bowl WeChat community as of 2023. Its founder is Charles Chen, and it is currently organized by Fred Fang and Gary Wang. Victor Che is also considered one of its crucial members.
History
Founding
In the beginning, H.F.E.A. was the name of a team that participated in the 2022 NAQT China Qualification event. The name combines the Chinese school Huafu International and the American high school Elgin Academy. H.F.E.A. delivered a 4-1 record in the qualification event and qualified for the China Championships.
Becoming a Community
After qualifying for the Chinese Final, H.F.E.A. disbanded as a quiz bowl team because its player Gary Wang could not play in further events. The group chat has become a community.
Effects
Notably, Members in H.F.E.A. practice quiz bowl, chat about any topics related to quiz bowl, trade dark humor memes, and share mean comments towards SKT.
