Jeremiah Rayban is a current player for Wilmington Charter and a former player for Cab Calloway School of the Arts.

Career

Jeremiah's first experience with quizbowl-style competitions came through the Middle School National History Bee, in which he was a regional champion for three years in a row from 2017 to 2019. Despite being a middle schooler, Jeremiah also was a runner-up in the JV division of his regional history bee in 2018 and 2019. Plus, as a one person middle schooler team, Jeremiah was his JV division's National History Bowl champion in 2019. In 2018 Jeremiah won second place in the National History Bee in Atlanta, and in 2019 Jeremiah won fourth place in the same competition.

In 2018, Jeremiah learned about NAQT all-subject quizbowl through a schoolmate, and he qualified for nationals (but didn't attend) that very same year by leading his middle school to a Charter Challenge 2nd place finish. Jeremiah himself was the top individual scorer at that tournament. In 2019, Jeremiah became NAQT's middle school player of the week after a second-place finish as a one-man team at the Great Valley Fall Tournament. He later earned a rank of 17th in the year's IPNCT national competition.

In September of 2019, Jeremiah joined the Wilmington Charter Quizbowl Club, and while the team's success that season was limited, he consistently won individual prizes at tournaments. In 2020, Jeremiah became a co-president of Charter Quizbowl.

Jeremiah is generally considered to be the best player in Wilmington Charter's lineup.
